Community & Social Practice
"Central to Anne's practice is a belief that creativity can foster connection, confidence, wellbeing and a sense of belonging throughout all stages of life."
For Anne, art is not only something that happens in the studio—it is also a way of bringing people together. Through collaborative projects, museum programs, school holiday workshops, after-school art classes, community partnerships and creative learning experiences, she creates opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to connect through creativity.
Her community-engaged practice is grounded in listening, observation and relationship-building. Whether working with preschool children, school students, families, people living with dementia, or newly arrived communities, Anne is interested in the stories, memories and experiences that shape our sense of identity and belonging.
Drawing on her experience as Education Officer at the New England Regional Art Museum, Anne develops programs that encourage curiosity, creativity and meaningful engagement with art. From early childhood programs, after-school art classes and school outreach to wellbeing initiatives, festival collaborations and intergenerational projects, her work reflects a commitment to making art accessible, relevant and enriching for diverse communities.
These projects sit alongside and inform her studio practice, reflecting a shared interest in memory, place, community and the role of art in everyday life.
